Cassie
What’s in and out ?
This
is
Cassie,
but
also
Cassandra.
She
was
only
a
few
weeks
old
when
we
adopted
her
again
from
Cats
Protection.
We’d
never
had
a
cat
that
was
so
young,
and
we
had
to
keep
her
in
until
she
was
old
enough
to
be
spayed.
Once
spayed
we
had
to
show
her
how
the
cat
flap
worked.
It
took
her
about
4
goes
to
get
the
hang
of
it
-
it
was
amazing
how
well
she
learned
to
use
it.
Over one weekend she became fully flap confident.
Outdoors is the same as indoors
Outdoors
or
indoors
is
all
the
same
to
Cassie,
she
does
not
appear
to
know
the difference, everywhere is just one big place to her.
So
sometimes
she
spends
all
day
in
the
house,
others
she
is
out
all
day.
She’s
now
about
15
months
old
so
she’s
no
likely
to
get
much
bigger
and
she’s now grown into her huge ears.
Stroppy teenager to adult
When she was still a kitten she would spend all evening sitting on you and
would sleep on the bottom of the bed. As she got older she’d do that less
and less, she’d still jump up to you to be made a fuss of, but then she’d be
off again. It was like she’d become a teenager.
Now
she’s
about
15
months
old
she’s
quickly
returning
to
the
way
she
was
when
she
first
arrived.
She
still
goes
out
a
lot,
most
evenings
she’s
out
until
around
9,
comes
in,
snaffles
around
and
then
departs
again
and
normally
does
not
return
until
about
8
the
next
morning.
But
some
days
we
don’t
see
her
until
maybe
mid
afternoon.
Or
other
times
it’s
as
like
she’s
returned
for
her breakfast and off out she goes again.
How are you ?
She’s
also
very
vocal
but
she
does
not
meow,
she
makes
more
of
a
high
pitched
squeak
or
yelp
which
is
often
quite
long
with
a
pitch
that
goes
up
and
down.
It
sounds
like
she’s
asking
“how
are
you?”
when
she
first
returns
to the house or the room you are in !
